Why This Material
The Stone in Detail
100% Natural Slate
LuxeStone Silver Grey is genuine natural slate — not manufactured composite or faux stone. The palette of cool silver, charcoal, and soft grey delivers a refined contemporary character that only real stone can provide, with natural variation from panel to panel.
Interior & Exterior Rated
Moisture-resistant slate construction makes LuxeStone Silver Grey suitable for wet interior areas including kitchen backsplashes, shower walls, and bathrooms, as well as exterior facades and outdoor features exposed to weather and UV.
Durable, Low Maintenance
Natural slate resists scratches, staining, and moisture. Easy to clean with soap and water, with periodic sealing to enhance longevity — a practical, long-term choice for high-traffic residential and commercial installations.
Larger Panels, Fewer Seams
Available in sizes up to 94¼" × 47¼", the larger formats minimize visible seams across the installation — delivering a more cohesive, polished result for both residential renovations and large-scale commercial builds.
Before You Install
Surface Preparation
Clean, Sound, and Primed
The wall surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or debris before installation. Apply a primer to porous or absorbent substrates to improve adhesion and ensure the panels bond properly. Allow primer to cure fully before proceeding. For exterior applications, use an exterior-rated adhesive.
12" × 24" Format
Stick & Go Installation
Self-Adhesive — No Extra Adhesive Required
The 12" × 24" Silver Grey panels are available in a Stick & Go format with pre-applied adhesive backing. Peel the backing, position the panel on a clean dry surface, and press firmly across the full face. Use a level to confirm alignment before the adhesive sets. Ideal for fast renovations, DIY installations, and smaller accent areas.
Installation
Step by Step — Larger Panels
1
Prepare the Surface
Clean and dry the wall thoroughly. Apply primer if working on a porous substrate to ensure maximum adhesion before laying any panels.
2
Dry-Fit First
Always dry-fit panels before committing adhesive. Confirm your layout and panel orientation — especially important on larger installations to ensure consistent seam spacing and stone pattern flow.
3
Apply Adhesive
Using a trowel, apply an even, consistent layer of adhesive to the back of each panel. Aim for 80–100% coverage to within ½" of the panel edges to prevent edge lifting.
4
Position and Press
Set the panel against the wall and press firmly across the full surface. Use a level to confirm alignment before the adhesive begins to set. Work from a fixed reference point outward.
5
Seal the Seams
After all panels are set and adhesive has cured, apply a quality stone sealer to seams and exposed edges. This enhances durability and guards against moisture infiltration over time.
6
Clean Up
Remove any adhesive squeeze-out immediately before it cures. Clean panel faces with a damp cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the slate surface.
Installer Advice
Pro Tips
Larger Panels First
Begin with your largest format panels to establish the primary visual field. Fill edges and detail areas with smaller sizes — this minimizes cut waste and keeps seams visually consistent across the installation.
Seal Exterior Installations
For outdoor or exposed applications, apply a penetrating stone sealer before final installation and reseal annually. This preserves the cool silver tone and protects against weathering over time.
Wet Areas — Allow Full Cure
In showers, bathrooms, or kitchens near water, allow the adhesive to cure fully — typically 24–48 hours — before exposing the installation to moisture or steam.
Care & Maintenance
Clean LuxeStone Silver Grey with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads that may dull the slate finish. For exterior installations or wet interior areas, reseal periodically with a quality penetrating stone sealer — typically every one to two years, or when water no longer beads on the surface. Proper surface preparation and adhesive application are required to maintain installation integrity.
